As of July 1st, 2012 it is now mandated by Califonia Senate Bill 946 (known as the Autism Insurance Act) that individuals with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and PDD (Pervasive Developmental Disorder) may be covered by their insurance. SB 946 requires fully funded insurance plans to specifically cover ABA therapy and medically necessary autism treatments.
